UK Mobile Networks to Scrap Roaming Fees by 2016

20th December 2013

Some good news from three of the UK’s mobile network operators, who have signed an agreement to scrap roaming charges for customers that use their mobile phone while in the EU.

EE, Three and Vodafone have all signed the agreement, along with Virgin Media, making Telefonica (o2) the only major mobile operator not to be currently involved.

The aim is for consumers to be provided roaming services at domestic rates.  Whether this includes data or just voice is unclear at the moment.
